Hi, today I'm posting on 2 interesting storylines that I thought you might want to hear about. Here it is:
Kareem Hunt for MVP?
Kareem Hunt has been the most interesting player so far this season. The rookie RB 3 weeks into the season is by far the best player in the league. His debut game vs the Patriots was unexpected and insane! Then the next 2 weeks, Hunt put up some more amazing numbers. 3 weeks into the season Hunt has rushed for 401 yards, 4 TDs, and received 137 yards and 2 TDs through the air. Hunt has 538 all purpose yards and 6 all purpose TDs already. These stats are amazing, especially for a rookie RB. If he keeps his rushing yard pace, by week 9, he could have about 1200 yards barely halfway into the season. If Hunt had 1200 yards by week 9 and kept pace, he could end up with about 2000 rushing yards in just his rookie season. If this happens, it will be crazy. He will be considered as one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history. If he keeps his receiving pace his could also have over 500 receiving yards. If all of this happens, Hunt may be the frontrunner for MVP. Hunt could be the first rookie to ever win MVP. I think he will also continue the streak of rookies leading the league in
rushing for the 2nd season in a row, leading up from Ezekiel Elliott's amazing rookie year. Kareem Hunt may win MVP...in his first season! I also forgot to mention that Hunt is averaging 9.6 yards per carry, the best EVER in NFL history if he can somehow sustain this tally to the end of the season.
Demarcus Lawrence Sack Leader?
Could another insane pass rusher named Demarcus be coming Dallas' way? It may be happening. Just a few years ago in 2014, Lawrence was drafted by the Cowboys in the 2nd round. The hope was that Lawrence could really aid the rush game. Throughout his first 3 seasons, Lawrence wasn't really anything special. He only had 9 sacks thus far into his career. Now he has started 2017 off with a BANG! Lawrence already has 6.5 sacks only 3 weeks into the season, 2.5 sacks away from getting over his career sack number before this year. Lawrence could be something special, not only may he lead the league in sacks if he keeps on pace, but around week 13, Lawrence could set the single season sack record if he keeps on his pace. Giants DE Michael Strahan set the record with 22.5 sacks that year, Lawrence could be on his way to pass him. He already has an insane 6.5 sacks in only 3 weeks, he is on pace to break Strahan's record and then keep getting more and more sacks and passing the record by A LOT! I'm not completely sold yet that Lawrence is the real deal and could keep on this legendary pace but if he does, he could be one of the next defensive superstars. Defensive Player of the Year could be in his near future. I'm excited to see how his season plays out and if he can live up to his legendary prediction!
