QB: Trevone Boykin (assuming no team will pick up Colin Kaepernick)
The QB position might be the worst position group left which is surprising because there are so many playable QBs who offer some kind of depth. Boykin is still a young QB who showed some SUPER promising signs as a backup of the Seahawks. He was cut after some legal issues but in the future could be a very could NFL player.
RB1: Orleans Darkwa
It is still a bit of a surprise to me that he is un-signed because he had a nice season with the Giants last year putting together a few big games and showing he could be a nice fill in RB. I thought he would be like the first backup RB signed in FA but he is still available. Darkwa's career isn't over but it is boggling that he isn't signed. He's only 26.
RB2: Eddie Lacy
Lacy's stint in Seattle was a bust and he hit free agency with no leverage. Still he provides some potential in the FA market. Earlier on in his career, he was great in Green Bay and was rookie of the year at one point. Lacy is still pretty young and if he's put in a better running back situation than Seattle and given the right amount of carries he could still produce.
WR1: Dez Bryant
Bryant is the most sure bet of any player in this FA to get signed. He is a year or 2 removed from being a top receiver in the league, he's still young, and he was still pretty good last season. Bryant is a decent WR1 and could be an amazing WR2 for any team. He has been linked to the Browns for awhile which seems like where he will end up.
WR2: Jordan Matthews
While his numbers haven't been to impressive lately, Matthews is still a pretty good slot WR that can still play. Matthews was lost in a sea of many receivers on the Patriots and was released earlier this off-season. If he catches on with the right team he could be the next Adam Thielen slot WR breakout type player. Matthews career should not be over, he's only 26 and should have at least 3 more years in the league.
TE: Coby Fleener
When he signed with the Saints a season or 2 ago, Fleener was considered a top 10 TE in football and he was decent in New Orleans. He didn't play terrible but he didn't play as well as he did when he was with the Colts. The Saints cut the 29 year old this off-season due to some injury concerns after a week 12 concussion and also because Fleener wasn't living up to the big contract he was given. Fleener still has football left to play and gas left in the tank. If a team needs a tight end at all they should sign Fleener who I still think can rise back but to being a top 10 tight end again.
O-line (one player at each O-line spot):
Chris Clark, OT
Derek Newton, OT
Luke Joeckl, OG
Richie Incognito, OG
Tim Barnes, C
D-Lineman 1: Johnathan Hankins
The 26 year old former Giants and Colts d-lineman is somehow still a free agent. A season or 2 ago the Giants didn't want to pay the young stud DT so the Colts did but he wasn't great in his first year with the team so they let him go. Now only 26 and super talented, Hankins has yet to catch on with a team but is rumored to be working out with the Browns soon. Hankins still has a ton left in the tank and can still become one of the best at his position. A team should make a small risk by trying to sign him and will likely be rewarded like when the Seahawks took the risk on Dion Jordan last off-season and so far it has payed off.
D-Lineman 2: Nick Fairley
Fairley would be signed right now but he has a major injury concern. He was out for last season with heart problems and now teams don't want to take the risk on him like some teams didn't want to take the risk on talented Maurice Hurst in the draft. If a team does take a chance on Fairley and they do play him he could really end up being a nice pickup but its yet to be seen if a team is willing to take a chance on him.
LB1: Kevin Dodd
Aside from Dez Bryant, I think Dodd is the best player left in FA. A second round pick by the Titans just 2 seasons ago, Dodd didn't really live up to the hype and was cut by the Titans just 2 years in. If Dodd gets signed by a team that can put him in a great situation and play him he could end up being one of the best up and coming players in the league. I think Dodd will get a deal and a chance but as of now he is the 2nd best player left in FA in my opinion.
LB2: Lawrence Tmmons
While Timmons is 32 and on the decline he still put up some good numbers last season and could provide great vet leadership to young teams. Timmons will start losing his pretty good tackle numbers as the years go but he can still do it for now and give veteran leadership and I think bringing in Timmons would be a good idea for any team.
CB1: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
DRC was a household name just 2 seasons ago. He was amazing and even though he was getting old it didn't seem like he was slowing down. He had 6 interceptions and 21 passes defended and looked like a top 5 CB in the league. Then last season hit. DRC looked old and washed up and his stats weren't nearly as good. Still, he boasts vet leadership and he still shows glimpses of his old self. Many teams are going for him. So far we know the Seahawks, Chargers, and Redskins are among teams interested.
CB2: Delvin Breaux
If you ask me, Breaux is one of the best hidden gems left in FA. Still young and only played 2 seasons in the NFL, Breaux had an amazing 3 INT, 19 passes defended rookie year and then in year 2 was injured almost the whole season. Now having trouble passing physicals, Breaux is playing in the Canadian Football League at the moment but would leave for any NFL team that came calling. Breaux is a low risk, high reward potential player and I think he should be signed soon.
S1: Eric Reid
Reid would have for sure been signed by now. He is very young and put up some good numbers. But he was largely involved with the Colin Kaepernick flag kneeling incident and now teams don't want him. There is much more hope for Reid than Kap but its not looking great right now. The Titans were seriously considering signing Reid before signing other safety Kenny Vaccaro. I don't think Reid's NFL career is over whereas I do think Kaep's career is.
S2: Quentin Demps
In a not great safety market, other than contreversial S Eric Reid, Demps in my opinion is the next best safety on the market. 2 seasons ago Demps put up monster numbers. 6 interceptions and 9 passes defended in only 13 games. Demps looked like a godly safety but last season he only played 3 games due to injury which didn't let us see how he would do after his monster 2016 season. Now at 33 the market for Demps is slim but if there is going to be a team in need of a safety, Demps should be the first guy called.
K: Giorgio Tavvechio
Tavvechio filled in for Sebastian Janikowski on the Raiders last season and did a pretty good job. He is under 30 and could be an amazing option for any team in need of a kicker.
P: Brad Wing
A pretty good punter for the Giants, Wing was let go and now a free agent. Any team who needs a punter should target Wing who is only 27.
