Top 10 MVP Candidates Week 6

Hi, here is my MVP candidates ranking post that I do every 2 weeks. Next to players names I will write if they moved up + or moved down - how many spots. I will write N/A if they weren't on the list last time. Here it is:

(This post was made before this weeks Thursday night Raiders Vs. Chiefs game)
1. Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: +4
Statline: 1959 passing yards, 13 TD, 2 INT
Even though the Patriots are having a slow start to the season, Brady isn't. Brady looks like a top MVP candidate once again. He leads the NFL in passing yards with already practically 2000. He's already thrown a nice 13 TDs to only 2 INTS. He looks like the normal good old Brady and could have a chance at winning yet ANOTHER MVP this season.

2. Deshaun Watson, QB, Texans: N/A
Statline: 1297 passing yards, 15 TDs, 5 INTS
In the last 2 weeks, Watson has gone from a non-candidate to a top candidate. The rookie QB as we all know has had a surprising amazing start to the season. While the Texans are only 3-3 and in a 3-way tie for the top of their division, Watson is standing out. The Texans have become Watson's team the title that defensive stud J.J. Watt used to hold. While his stats don't seem amazing, he has been on another level this season. 2 weeks in a row he had 5 total TDs. 4 TDs and a rushing TD and the week after FIVE passing TDs in a single game! Watson is the front runner to win rookie of the year but the rookie could take home even bigger better honors if he keeps playing like a veteran QB.

3. Kareem Hunt, RB, Chiefs: -2
Statline: 630 rush yards, 4 TDs, 255 receiving yards, 2 receiving TDs
While Hunt's stats don't look MONSTER, they are. In just 6 weeks, Hunt has become a rookie phenom who carried the Chiefs to their great 5-1 start that leads the AFC. Hunt already has rushed for 630 yards in just 6 games which puts him on pace to get around 1500 yards or even more. He looks like one of the next elite RBs for the next decade. Hunt is off to a monster start and has a good shot at MVP!

4. Alex Smith, QB, Chiefs: -2
Statline: 1637 passing yards, 12 TDs, 0 INT
Smith is having the best year of his career surprisingly as the Chiefs made a massive trade to pick QB Patrick Mahomes in the first round so he could replace Smith who seemed to be slowing down. Smith has become a QB1 elite this year. He has already thrown for 1600 yards less than halfway through the season. If he keeps on pace it will be the best year of his career passing yard wise. Smith also has 12 TDs already which is really good and don't forget that Smith hasn't thrown a single interception yet this season. Smith is playign out of his mind this year and actually has a shot at MVP.

5. Leonard Fournette, RB, Jaguars: N/A
Statline: 596 rush yards, 6 rush TDs, 136 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD
This is the year of the rookie RB. We've seen Kareem Hunt, Fournette, Chris Carson, and Dalvin Cook all look like legit elite RBs for years to come. Fournette has looked like a monster RB the Jags have always needed. Fournette has looked like an actual nightmare for opposing defenses. He's already ran for 596 which puts him on pace for over 1300 yards in just his rookie season. He's already run for a whopping 6 TDs which puts him on pace for over 14 TDs. He looks like he has a shot at MVP even though its not likely he passes fellow rook RB Kareem Hunt in MVP race he still looks amazing! Fournette has a nice shot at this.

6. Antonio Brown, WR, Steelers: N/A
Statline: 700 receiving yards, 2 TDs
Despite Big Ben looking bad this year, Brown looks really really good. He somehow as a receiver already has 700 yards within only 6 weeks. If he keeps on this insane WR tear, he could be in for a historic season. Brown looks better than ever and for the first time that I can say without hesitating that Brown IS the best receiver in the league right now!

7. Todd Gurley, RB, Rams: -3
Statline: 521 rush yards, 4 TDs, 245 receiving yards, 3 receiving TDs
Gurley IS back from his down year last year. The former rookie of the year has had a great start to this years campaign and looks like an elite RB again. Gurley has already ran for a great 520 rush yards which puts him on pace for over 1000 rush yards. He also has whopping receiving stats that total up to 245 receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs. He looks really great this year and has a good shot at MVP.

8. Carson Wentz, QB, Eagles: +1
Statline: 1584 pass yards, 13 TD, 3 INT
Wentz is only 2 years into the league but already seems like he's been in the league for ages. Wentz is playing like a top tier QB. He has lead his Eagles team to a 5-1 start, the best record in the NFC and leads a top division. Wentz has already thrown for 1500 yards and 13 TDs with only 3 INTs just 6 weeks in. A QB this young putting such great numbers is rare and Wentz is looking GREAT!

9. Chris Hogan, WR, Patriots: N/A
Statline: 307 receiving yards, 5 receiving TDs
Sure, Hogan's stats aren't amazing but if you have him in fantasy or have watched in a real game, you would actually see how important he is to the Patriots and how beastly he has been playing lately. The former lacrosse player that switched to WR is having the best season of his career. Already only 6 games into the year, Hogan has a nice 300 receiving yards and a great 5 TDs. Hogan has been really important for the Pats and he is a huge longshot to win MVP but I feel like I should mention him.

10. Demarcus Lawrence, DE, Cowboys: (10 last time)
Statline: 8.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 24 combined tackles
Lawrence was 10 on the list last time and I still think he is no. 1 in the defensive player of the year race but he has slowed down a little since 2 weeks ago. Still leading the league in sacks but only by .5 sacks, Lawrence at the very beginning of the year had an insane start getting a bunch of sacks really really fast. Lawrence again still leads the league in sacks and I expect him to finish the year with a lot of sacks. He also has 2 forced fumbles and 24 combined tackles. Pretty good. Lawrence will likely be the DPOY but a longshot for MVP!

Just Missed the List: Le'Veon Bell RB Steelers, Calais Campbell DE Jaguars

Top MVP Candidates

Hi, with the season almost over and the playoffs about to begin, I will be writing a MVP race post so you can see where were at in my opinion in the MVP race. Mid-way through the season I made a MVP post and so next to the names of the players on the list I will say how many spots they moved up or down and it will say N/A if they weren't on the list earlier this year.  Here it is:

Top Bet:

1. Tom Brady, QB, Patriots:   +9
Brady has been a great QB this year, and could win his 3rd MVP. After his 4 game suspension was up, Brady stepped in and has won every game since except for one where he still played very well. Everyone thinks Brady will win it again this year, and its looking good. He has thrown 22 TD's and only 2 interceptions. Thats pretty good and he has lead the Patriots TO ANOTHER PLAYOFF!

Top 3:

2. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys:   +5
Zeke is having a historic season. As a rookie, he leads the league in rushing over some of the leagues top running backs and he's still a rookie. Zeke will be a force for years to come behind the best O-line in football. Since Brady is a QB thats having a great season, it pretty much trumps a running back with a great season, but if I could choose who won MVP, Zeke would be my pick. He will be in the top 3 for MVP votes and hopefully pull off the win after his insane rookie season. He has 1551 yards and there are still 2 weeks left, he could have 2 huge rushing games and possibly break 2000 along with a crazy amount of TD's with 13. Zeke is having quite a rookie season.

3. Matt Ryan, QB, Falcons:  -2
After a few decent seasons, Ryan has really stepped up this year to lead the Falcons to the playoffs and give him self an MVP candidate season. He has thrown 32 TD's to only 7 interceptions, thats a great ratio. Sure he has 5 more interceptions than Brady, but he has 10 more TD's plus the suspension gave Brady 4 less games to throw picks. The Falcons have finally won out the division over the Panthers because of Ryan's rising. He will be a top bet to win MVP.

ELITE PERFORMERS:

4. Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys:  +5
After a surprising turn of events where Tony Romo went down in the pre-season, Dak Prescott got the starting job and since, has lead the Cowboys to a 12-2 record and took the starting job when Romo was healthy. The Cowboys rookies have been insane this season and Dak will maybe someday be the best QB in the league when QB's like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers aren't around anymore. Dak has thrown 3,400 yards with 20 TD's and only 4 interceptions. He has also ran for 6 TD's which is pretty great too. This is great for a rookie and the way he has been playing has been so awesome and he is another top bet in peoples minds for MVP.

5. Derek Carr, QB, Raiders:    N/A
Carr has always been a pretty good young QB, but who knew that this would be the year he became an elite QB? Carr has lead the Raiders to their first playoff berth in many years and the Raiders may finally win their division. Carr has been a great QB to Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper, 2 of the leagues best receivers who are hungry for receptions. Carr has thrown 3700 yards for 25 TD's and only 6 interceptions. A lot of people want to see Carr win MVP and its very possible.

6. Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions:    -4
The Lions finally may take down the Packers for the division title for the first time in years. Its always the Packers or the Vikings who win it, but this year it looks like the Lions will win the division with a 1 game lead on the Packers. Stafford has been great all season and he is becoming an elite QB finally like everyone thought he would be some day. He has thrown for 3700 yards and 22 TD's with only 8 interceptions. Stafford has also been a great mobile QB, trucking players for TD's which you normally don't see QB's do. This list is owned with great QB's and Stafford is finally better than QB's like Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson this year.

OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

7. Aaron Rodgers, QB, Packers:    N/A
After the Packers had a bad start to the season, Aaron Rodgers really turned it around and started leading his team to what may be a playoff berth. Rodgers turned Jordy Nelson back into his old star form and Davante Adams is becoming a top receiver because of Rodgers. His 32 TD's and only 7 interceptions is a really great number and if he is phenominal through the last weeks and wins out, he could seriously have a chance at MVP.

8. DeMarco Murray, RB, Titans:   -4
Murray has been super good throughout the year and deserves some recognition for the comeback season he is having. The Titans still could possibly make the playoffs and Murray could put the team on his back and maybe do it if the Titans win out, they will make the playoffs. Murray has racked up 1224 yards and 9 touchdowns which is pretty good. Murray could win MVP if he somehow beats out these other insane candidates but you have to put a guy this good on the list.

9. Von Miller, LB, Broncos:  -9
The only defensive player on this list, Von Miller has had a great follow-up season to his Super Bowl MVP winning season last year. Miller is almost a lock for Defensive Player of the Year with 13.5 sacks, 65 tackles, and 2 forced fumbles. This is a great season for any defensive player and a great star like Miller could have an MVP in him maybe because he is one of the only defensive players with a chance this year and that alone maybe could win it for him?

10. Marcus Mariota, QB, Titans:  N/A
Mariota's amazing season started week 5 but was shadowed by the return of Tom Brady. Since then, Mariota has been a top QB leading the Titans to many wins and they could still easily make the playoffs. They have beaten a lot of great teams like the Chiefs, Packers, Broncos, and more. Mariota has tossed 25 TD's, only 9 picks, and 3300 yards. Mariota could win it in future years, but unless he leads the Titans to the Super Bowl, its not pretty much possible but he is such a great player, he has to be on the list.

Thanks for reading and comment who you think will win MVP.

MVP Race Candidates Half Season

Hi, with half of the season flown by, its time to see who has a chance at winning the biggest award of the year. Here it is:

TOP BET:

1. Matt Ryan, QB, Falcons:
Ask anyone, so far, Ryan has been the best player. He has helped the Falcons stay no. 1 in their division and he has helped Julio Jones emerge as the best receiver so far over Odell Beckham and Antonio Brown, two bets to do better than Jones. Ryan has looked amazing and beat tough teams including the Broncos who were undefeated until playing them and the Panthers. They even almost won a tough game in Seattle losing by a missed PI call on a 4th down dime to Julio Jones. Ryan had his best week against the Panthers throw for a bunch of TD's and 500 yards! Whew! Matty Ice has been great.

ELITE PERFORMERS:

2. Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions:
Another huge surprise, Stafford for MVP seemed as likely as Donald Trump winning the election this off-season, now both look possible. On a talentless Lions team with a long playoff drought, Matthew Stafford has made the best of it and stepped up his game to play better than he did even with legendary WR Calvin Johnson who retired this offseason. Golden Tate was the Lions only great target it seemed until free agent surprise Marvin Jones broke out and is now looking like a top 5 receiver. Stafford has made his team win a lot of games and is gaining on the playoff picture, don't be surprised if he actually wins MVP, its possible.

3. Melvin Gordon, RB, Chargers:
Who would have thought that the biggest dissapointment of last season, would come back and make a case to be league MVP? No one. After a terrible rookie season, something clicked and Melvin Gordon started playing like magic. Only 7 games into the season, Gordon already has 10 TD's, he could get 20 TDs this year if he keeps on pace which would be insane!!! That would be the NFL history record. Gordon could do it if he keeps playing like he has been. Gordon is a top RB who has a top shot at MVP.

4. DeMarco Murray, RB, Titans:
After his slump year, no one believed in Murray, except me. I thought he would be good since the day he got traded to that amazing O-line in Tennessee. Murray has done it. He has had a great season. Finally looking like himself, Murray has rushed for 5 TD's already and caught 2 TDs. He has also ran for 633 yards so far. He has looked amazing and he is one of the Titans only hopes at winning and I think they have a chance with such a stud in the backfield.

5. Julio Jones, WR, Falcons:
If Matt Ryan does end up winning MVP, its mostly because of the star of the Falcons offense. He has been super dominate this year and has played better than any other receiver in the game. He has already 830 receiving yards and 4 TDs including one 300 yard game vs. the Panthers which was insane. Jones is an amazing beast who has a great shot at league MVP.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

6. David Johnson, RB, Cardinals:
If you look at the stats, people either say David Johnson or Melvin Gordon is the no. 1 RB in the league, both have a great case. The 2nd year running back has had an amazing season and has played better than last years rookie of the year RB Todd Gurley who out played him for the award. He has rushed for 681 yards and 8 TD's, thats an elite performance for sure. Johnson looked like one of the only good players in last weeks slugfest tie Vs. the Seahawks. Johnson has a great shot at MVP and he is also the no. 1 point scoring fantasy running back.

7. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys:
This could end up being one of the best rookie running backs in NFL history, he is already on pace to break 2000 yards rushing which would be a record. Elliott has such a great shot at it too. Aside from his insane athletisim, Elliott is running behind the best O-line in the league. He is already pretty much a surefire Offensive Rookie of the year bet, but can he win MVP too? He has a shot.

8. Von Miller, LB, Broncos:
The reigning Super Bowl MVP has had a great follow-up season. He has already had 7.5 sacks and 22 solo tackles this far into the season. He is having a great season and he is maybe the best defensive player in the league, epescially with J.J. Watt out for the season. Defensive players don't normally win MVP, he has a chance, and if not, he has a great shot at defensive player of the year.

9. Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys:
A name no one thought would be on this list this off-season surprised everyone. Rookie QB Dak Prescott stepped in when Tony Romo got hurt, now he looks like he will stay starter when Romo is back. Prescott has looked amazing starting 5-1 and right now leading the NFC's no. 1 team. Prescott has played super well even without super star receiver Dez Bryant. He has already set records and only thrown 1 interception. Dak Prescott will be a name you will hear in the future, but this is only the start.

10. Tom Brady, QB, Patriots:
Just because he had a 4 game suspension made people forget about Brady, but don't. He has been amazing in the games he has played, losing 0 games and he has been in the league MVP running almost every year of his career, why would this year be different after how good he's already been so far. Brady has a super star unit of pass catchers to help him including 2 TE's who both barely missed this list. Brady could easily do this if he keeps playing like he has been.

Another notable players: Drew Brees QB Saints, Marcus Mariota QB Titans, Le'Veon Bell RB Steelers, Antonio Brown WR Steelers, Marvin Jones WR Lions, Ben Roethlisberger QB Steelers, Derek Carr QB Steelers, A.J. Green WR Bengals, Martellus Bennett TE Patriots, Bobby Wagner MLB Seahawks, Jay Ajayi RB Dolphins, Rob Gronkowski TE Patriots, LeGarrette Blount RB Patriots, Cam Newton QB Panthers, Sam Bradford QB Vikings, Carson Wentz QB Eagles, Lorenzo Alexander LB Bills.

Winners of the Week, Week 5 Edition

Hi, with my wrap-up post coming soon, I am making the winners of the week post. Sorry that I haven't posted fantasy starts and sits for awhile but I will make sure to post them this week. Im not giving any news alerts because that will come in my wrap-up post. Here are the winners of the week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: Wooh! Brady is back. The best QB in NFL history was fresh off his suspension and didn't show any rust at all. Brady completed 28 passes for 406 yards and 3 TD's. What a week. 400 yards is a lot and 3 TD's is great too. His receivers were super reliable and his throws were on the money. Brady is back and he started off his season by winning player of the week, we should be scared for the rest of the season.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Atlanta Falcons (4-1):
For the 2nd straight week, the Falcons have won team of the week. This week wasn't as impressive as their historic week last week, but its up there. People thought the Falcons would snap under the pressure of playing the undefeated reigning super bowl champs with a top defense and a decent offense. NOPE! The Falcons ended their winning streak with a bang. Matt Ryan was good even with the pressure of the top secondary in the league and held Von Miller off of a huge game. Devonta Freeman/Tevin Coleman duo went off again. The defense looked really good for the first time of the season. Beating the Broncos was a huge milestone but they will again be put to the test going up against the rested Seahawks in Seattle, can Matt Ryan's gang take team of the week again next week. We'll see.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Marcus Mariota, QB, Titans: 20 completions for 163 yards and 3 TD's, 30 fantasy points
Martellus Bennett, TE, Patriots: 3 TD catches and 60+ yards, 24 fantasy points
David Johnson, RB, Cardinals: Rushed for 157 yards and 2 TD's to give Cards key win, 29 fp
Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys: Rushed for 134 yards and 2 TD's, 28 fp
Jaquizz Rodgers, RB, Buccaneers: Rushed for 100+ yards against the Panthers good D with a tiny height of 5'6

TEAM OF THE WEEK HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Minnesota Vikings (5-0): Stayed the only undefeated team with a big win over the Texans
New England Patriots (4-1): Had a blowout game vs. Browns with Brady back
Oakland Raiders (4-1): Went for it on a big 4th down to win the key game to top the division
Dallas Cowboys (4-1): Won a key game to stay on top of the division with their rookies shining

Thanks for reading and I hope your team was featured on todays team of the week post. Will the Falcons win Team of the week for the 3rd week straight next week? Will Tom Brady have another epic game? Find out next week on Winners of the Week :)

2 Players You Don't Know Who Have Changed NFL History

Hi, today I am posting about some players you probably don't know played that changed the NFL in a big way. Some crazy things happened today. Browns release amazing wide receiver Josh Gordon. Bills place star receiver Sammy Watkins on IR, should probably be out for the year. Here it is:

John Lynch, Former Broncos Safety:
In week 17 a few years back, the Broncos were playing the Chargers. Saints legendary QB Drew Brees was then on the Chargers. Near the back of their own endzone, the Chargers snapped the ball and Drew Brees dropped back and looked for open receivers. John Lynch ran in and forced a fumble on Drew Brees. Brees was an AMAZING QB for the Chargers and he was ready to take his team to the playoffs and the Super Bowl. The Chargers were already out of the playoffs so it was a meaningless fumble but Brees jumped for it anyway. He hurt his arm and 2nd year QB at the time Phillip Rivers stepped in to play. After the season the Chargers didn't re-sign the injured Brees and the Saints signed him. Rivers was the Chargers starter the next season and to this day. Brees took command of his new offense quickly and after a few seasons he lead the Saints to a Super Bowl win. Brees set a lot of records that are still held by him to this day. Meanwhile Phillip Rivers was amazing on the Chargers and also set records their too. Both QB's will be hall of famers and are amazing, but without John Lynch, Brees would still be slinging balls in San Diego and no one would have ever even known Phillip Rivers.

Mo Lewis, Former Jets Linebacker:
In the second game of the 2001 NFL season, the Patriots were playing the Jets. The Patriots had great QB Drew Bledsoe, it looked like he was taking the Patriots to the playoffs. In this game, Bledsoe on a random play rolled out and ran. He was hit by Mo Lewis and injured. Surefire future hall of fame QB Tom Brady came in and played for the first time. He was amazing and lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl. When Bledsoe came back, Brady was the new starter and he still is to this day. Brady is probably the best QB in NFL history. Without Mo Lewis, its possible that Bledsoe could have been thought of as the best QB in NFL history if he kept on doing what he had been doing. If Lewis wasn't in the the league, Brady could have gone his whole career as a backup and no one would ever know the true talent behind him.
