Who won the big game? Super Bowl 50 Winners Crowned!
Super Bowl 50: Broncos V. Panthers My Predicted Winner: Panthers Final Score: Panthers 10, Broncos 24
WHAT AN UPSET! Almost everyone was favoring the 17-1 Panthers to win the Super Bowl lead by NFL MVP Cam Newton and Coach of the Year Ron Rivera. Meanwhile the only hope was the Broncos #1 D. The D played even better than everyone expected. Cam Newton played terribly. He had 2+ fumbles and was sacked 6 times! Cam also had many incomplete passes and no TD throws. He also threw an interception. Super Cam was a no show tonight. Von Miller (who later won Super Bowl MVP) had an amazing game. He had a few forced fumbles, sacks, and tackles. Without him the D would have been much worse. Plus a rising star on the Broncos, Danny Trevathan had 2 fumble recovers and a few tackles. We knew it was going to be a defensive day when Von Miller sacked Cam Newton at the Panthers own 5 yard line and Newton fumbled it. It was then recovered by a Broncos player for a defensive TD. As I said not just Cam Newton played terribly but so did Peyton Manning. He could barely throw the ball and got less than 5 first downs the whole game! The punters were out on the field a lot on both teams. The reason you know the Broncos deserved the win was because the Broncos punted the ball on almost every offensive drive of theirs and the Panthers did nothing about it. The only players who were good on offense tonight for the Broncos were C.J. Anderson who had some great runs plus a TD and Emmanuel Sanders who had some key catches on offense. Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart was one of their only good players today who had a few rushes and the only Panthers TD. Broncos punt return man Jordan Norwood broke a super bowl record by having an amazing 63 yard punt return that was more punt return yards than any other punt return in super bowl history! The Broncos battled it out well and kind of deserved the win more than the show off Panthers. What a super bowl and who do you think will be in Super Bowl 51?
Also some quick news that Marshawn Lynch announced retirement and the Seahawks will likely start Thomas Rawls next year at RB!
I will have some more posts coming up soon, just because the season is over doesn't mean I won't keep blogging. In the offseason trades, retirement, signings happen all the time. I will write about the news for that and the draft is also coming up soon. Have a great offseason!
