Rookie Questions!

Hi, today I am doing a post about rookies. I will answer some questions I have made up for rookies and rookie of the year predictions. I will answer all the questions with the players I think will win. Here it is:

OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:

The Favorite: Leonard Fournette, RB, Jaguars:
I think Fournette will easily be rookie of the year. I'm sure a lot of other people do too. Fournette will walk into a pretty good situation where he will likely win the starting job over decent backs Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon. I think Fournette is one of the best running backs coming out of college I personally have ever seen. His rare mix of size and speed make for an unreal statline. Fournette could get a lot of carries and the Jags have a pretty good O-line plus a slumping QB that will look to handoff the ball a lot. Fournette could have as good of a rookie year as Zeke!

The Attractive Pick: Deshaun Watson, QB, Texans:
Watson would be such a fun player to win ROY. He was a National Champion as he came off one of the best college QB careers that we've also seen in awhile. Watson is a QB and rookie QBs are usually pretty fun to watch. He is likely the only rookie QB with a good chance to start and play a lot of games. I would love to see the Texans new QB as rookie of the year.
<<Honorable Mention Attractive Pick: John Ross, WR, Bengals>>

The Sleeper Pick: Evan Engram, TE, Giants:
I LOVE Engram to the Giants. I think Engram was such an interesting tight end in college considering he has the body of a receiver. Even though he was a first round pick, who has a projected 2nd round tight end who is on a team with Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall the favorite to win rookie of the year. Probably no one. Engram could have a good shot though if Eli Manning wants to throw to his young, fast tight end a lot. Engram could end up surprising a lot of people.
<<Honorable Mention Sleeper Pick: Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals>>

The Late Round Surprise Pick: Dede Westbrook, WR, Jaguars (4th round):
If Westbrook works his way into the receiving lineup where he will actually get playtime, he could have a Tyreek Hill like rookie year. Westbrook was a top Heisman candidate last season where he exploded at Oklahoma with his crazy speed. If the Jags can work him into the lineup he could be a huge weapon for Blake Bortles!
<<Honorable Mention Surprise Late Round Pick: Ryan Switzer, WR, Cowboys>>

DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:

The Favorite: Myles Garrett, DE, Browns:
Easily everyones favorite for the award. The worst team in football wouldn't pass up on a QB if they didn't think Myles Garrett wasn't by far the best player in the draft and possibly a once in a generational TYPE player. Garrett was a monster at Texas A&M and the Browns will use him well. He should be a terrorist for opposing QBs unless he is a total bust like most Browns top picks lately.

The Attractive Pick: T.J. Watt, LB, Steelers:
A lot of people would love it if Watt, the younger brother of star JJ Watt won DROY. It would be such an ATTRACTIVE storyline. Watt will likely be actually pretty good for the Steelers when he starts playing. He will start and he will perform. There is also that exciting game on Christmas where the Watt brothers face off for the first time when the Steelers face the Texans. Watt winning DROY would be very exciting.

The Sleeper Pick: Obi Melifonwu, S, Raiders:
The Seahawks were about to draft phenom S Melifonwu when the Raiders stepped up at the last minute and grabbed him. Now he may have a great sleeper shot at rookie of the year. He will likely start for the Raiders who will use him well. Since he will be starting, I think he could have a really good year and play like a first round talent. I like the pick of him for the Raiders even though I was sad my Seahawks didn't get him.

The Late Round Surprise Pick: Caleb Brantley, DT, Browns (6th Round):
Brantley was the best player this late in the draft, the problem was he had some off the field issues that we don't really need to get into. Brantley has moved past them and is now working hard on the Browns. He was a 1st to 2nd round talent before this issue came up and so since he was drafted so late, he is likely the biggest steal in the draft if he starts at defensive tackle. Don't be surprised to hear if this 6th round pick does really well.
<<Honorable Mention Late Round Surprise Pick: Tedric Thompson, S, Seahawks>>
