Hi, today I was thinking about some of the best players in the league and then the MVP award came up so today I will list 10 players I think could win MVP except for no QBs on the list because they are usually the only position on the list because of their role on the team. Here are 10 non-QBs that have a great shot at MVP next season:
Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys:
Zeke was snubbed of rookie of the year last year for his own teams QB. He lead the league in rushing and he has such great skills like hurdles and spins and he also runs behind the best O-line in the league. Why wouldn't he have a great chance?
Leonard Fournette, RB, Jaguars:
The 4th overall pick in this years draft looks like he could make the elite RB group (Zeke Elliott, Le'Veon Bell, and David Johnson). He has the rare skillset that Adrian Peterson had coming out of college which is size and speed. If he plays like most people think he will, he could be up for grabs for MVP, rookie of the year, and a spot in the elite RB group which currently stays at 3 until we see Fournette.
David Johnson, RB, Cardinals:
Johnson had one of the best seasons in awhile for an RB. He had so many touchdowns, so many yards, and just couldn't be brought down. For fantasy football a lot of people have him as their no. 1 overall pick. Johnson is a tackle breaking and all purpose yard machine. He can do anything asked of him and the Cardinals will continue to lean on him. He could win MVP.
Le'Veon Bell, RB, Steelers:
The last, but surely not the least player off the board of the elite RB group (again, David Johnson, Zeke Elliott, and BELL). Bell was healthy last year and went off again. His game against the Bills was one of the craziest indiviual performances I have seen. Bell runs behind such a good line and is so talented that I can see him with a shot at MVP.
Julio Jones, WR, Falcons:
In my opinion, the best receiver of last year, Jones could win MVP. He is huge, speedy, and can catch ANYTHING! His overlooked Super Bowl catch would have been the play of the night had Julian Edleman not made his catch. Jones could win MVP if Matt Ryan can have another great season and deliver the ball well to him.
Khalil Mack, LB/DE, Raiders:
The Raiders star who won Defensive Player of the Year last year could take it to the next level and win MVP. While an offensive player usually wins, it may not be the case if Mack has anything to say about it. Mack dominated so well last year that he went All-Pro...IN TWO POSITIONS!! Thats literally insane. If Mack can go All-Pro in two positions, he can win MVP. Just wait...
J.J. Watt, DE, Texans:
The 3-time Defensive Player of the Year may be able to finally cash in for the MVP award. Anytime you win that big of an honor...THREE TIMES, the chances are you have a great shot at MVP. His peers think he's a great player too, in 2015 despite not winning MVP, his peers voted him as the no. 1 player of the year over MVP Aaron Rodgers. It could be his time to bounce back from an injured season to MVP.
Tyreek Hill, WR, Chiefs:
I know this one may be crazy to some of you, but one of my favorite receivers in the league I think could have a great shot at MVP. Last year he broke out on some huge yardage plays, and he was down in the receiver depth chart. Now currently, he is the Chiefs no. 1 receiver. Hill is so explosive and with the ability to get a lot of looks for the entire season this time, could get him to some sort of MVP status.
Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Giants:
The Giants receiver is another shoe-in to this list. He has been part of the elite receiver group in every year of his career in my opinion at least. The former offensive rookie of the year is Eli Manning's favorite target and I think he could have himself an MVP season. Manning may break out again and Beckham could get a lot of targets like usual. Beckham always has a great shot at the big award.
Brandin Cooks, WR, Patriots:
Another maybe surprise for the list, instead of Antonio Brown who I am not a fan of, Cooks makes the top 10 list. The last time Tom Brady had an explosive receiver was Randy Moss who exploded that year and got 21 TDs on the season. Cooks has amazing speed and the ability to easily break free from defenders. Cooks is such a rising star and being on the best team in the league with the best QB ever only helps his case.
Just Missed the list: Antonio Brown WR Steelers, Von Miller LB Broncos, Eric Decker WR Titans, Landon Collins S Giants, Jay Ajayi RB Dolphins, Jordan Howard RB Bears
