Winners of the Week, Week 15

Hi, here is my weekly winners of the week post:

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Todd Gurley, RB, Rams
Statline: 152 yards, 4 TDs rushing
Todd Gurley is having a really great bounce back season, and he has won his first player of the week award this season on my blog. Gurley had any players dream game, and it came at an unexpected time as the Rams were rare underdogs in one of the hardest enviornments in the NFL playing against the Seahawks in Seattle. Gurley wasn't fazed at all, he went off. He ran for a great 152 yards which any RB would be very happy with, but he also had an unfair 4 TDs. That may have been the best non-QB offensive performance of the year. In non-PPR fantasy Gurley racked up 41 fantasy points, enough to win any team their league championship. Gurley dominated a Seahawks D that is officially a bad defense without Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor. Gurley put his Rams in a 2 game lead for the division and now the Rams are the closest they've been in years to the playoffs. Gurley was named to his 2nd pro bowl this week and is closing out his amazing comeback season. While Gurley's great game had most people put him in the MVP conversation, I don't agree but still think Gurley is one of the best players in the league and he certainly proved that this week as he won my blogs offensive player of the week!

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Darius Slay, CB, Lions
Statline: 2 INTs
Slay is someone I almost never talk about on my blog for whatever reason, but he is one of the best CBs in the league and proved it this week when he picked off Bears' Mitchell Trubisky twice and won my blogs defensive player of the week! Slay, like Gurley is having quite the bounce back season as he is tied for the league lead in INTs and has cemented himself as a top CB. Darius Slay helped the Lions tremendously as he picked off the Bears twice to help the Lions keep a lead and go on to win 20-10 in a crucial playoff changing match for the Lions who are fighting to stay in the race. His 2nd pick iced the Lions win. Slay was named to his first pro bowl of his career this week and it is well deserved. Slay is my blogs defensive player of the week!

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Los Angeles Rams (10-4)
Final Score: Rams 42, Seahawks 7
Todd Gurley was my blogs player of the week and his team brings in another weekly award. The Rams are my blogs team of the week. Coming into a week that meant so much to the NFC playoff picture, the Rams were rare underdogs heading into a hard match-up against the Seahawks in Seattle. The Rams played like they were playing the Browns or something. The entire team did its job and the Rams easily watched the Seahawks get smaller and smaller in their rearview mirror as they steamrolled them. Jared Goff had a modest game but he just had to facilitate the win which proved to be pretty easy for him. Todd Gurley as you know went off. The Rams receivers played well, Robert Woods had a bounce back from injury game. The O-line held up very well. The defense played phenomanally as they held lead MVP candidate Russell Wilson to one of his worst games of the year. A little more than 100 yards, a TD, and no INTs. They held him by pressuring him time and time again and sacking him a ton. Aaron Donald was to blame as he played amazingly and amassed a few sacks. Lets not forget about the special teams. Returner Pharoh Cooper had one of the best return games of the year and kickers and punters on the Rams did very well. The entire Ram team played amazing football and has put them in great position to make the playoffs and dominate. Right now my Super Bowl bet is Rams over Patriots so they have convinced me. The Rams had an amazing win and they are my blogs team of the week!
