Le'Veon Bell, RB, Steelers
Pick 48 overall, 2013:
Taking Bell in the 2nd round showed that the Steelers thought Le'Veon was really good, but who knew he would be this good. Bell has become one of the best running backs in the league and a vital part of one of the best offenses in the league. Bell is an elite running back that will have chances to win Offensive Player of the Year for years to come.
Derek Carr, QB, Raiders
Pick 36 overall, 2014:
Carr could have been the first pick in the entire draft but instead he slid into the 2nd round where the Raiders stole him. Carr was an MVP candidate last season and played out of his mind guiding the Raiders to the playoffs before getting injured 2 weeks before the playoffs to ruin any chances the Raiders had of actually winning the Super Bowl. He is a great leader and exactly what the Raiders hoped he'd be. Sucks for the Texans who passed up on him.
Bobby Wagner, MLB, Seahawks
Pick 47 overall, 2012:
Wagner was one of the best 2nd round picks I have ever seen. What he's done for the Seahawks is insane especially this last season where he had a chance to win Defensive Player of the Year. By a whole 18 tackles, Bobby Wagner lead the NFL in tackles with 167. Thats insane. Wagner really has developed into one of the best at his position in football and who would have thought this dude wasn't a top 5 pick.
Janoris Jenkins, CB, Giants:
Pick 39 overall, 2012:
Jenkins looked like a decent corner in this league until his huge breakout season this year. He was a top corner this season and I thought he was phenomonal. Jenkins is a lockdown corner now and I wouldn't be surprised if he won defensive player of the year within the next few seasons.
Landon Collins, S, Giants
Pick 33 overall, 2015:
Collins went from a decent rookie to a DPOY candidate. He was nominated for the award this past season after his great year. 5 interceptions is great and he even had 4 sacks which is a lot for the player that plays the farthest back on defense. He also had a pick 6 vs the Rams which I thought should have won play of the year. Collins blossomed this season.
Alshon Jeffery, WR, Eagles
Pick 45 overall, 2012:
Michael Thomas |
Michael Thomas, WR, Saints:
Pick 47 overall, 2016:
Even though he has only played 1 year, he looks like he was a steal. None of the first round pick receivers did anything this year. Him and later round pick Tyreek Hill should have been the only receivers taken in the 1st round. Thomas had an 1000 yard season this year and may be the no. 1 receiver now on the Saints after Brandin Cooks was traded to the Patriots.
Thanks for reading about the best 2nd round picks!
