Remembering Mike Vick's Legendary Career

Hi, I know that Mike Vick announced his retirement months ago, but I never got a chance to remember his legendary career and today I was thinking about legends and remembered Vick and so I will post about his great career once and for all. Here it is:

Michael Vick QB Falcons, Eagles, Jets, Steelers:

Vick will be remembered as the best rushing QB ever for a very long time because I don't know if anyone can play like Vick did. Vick came into the league as the first overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons. His first season wasn't great though. Vick only played 8 games and threw for 785 yards, and only 2 TDs. He also only rushed for 289 yards and a TD. In year 2 he picked it up though, throwing for 2936 yards and 16 TDs along with 8 interceptions. Vick was really a lot better. He also ran for 777 yards and a whopping 8 rushing TDs. Thats when everyone knew he would be known for running not his passing. Having Vick at QB was like having an elite RB who could also throw
the ball well too. It almost wasn't fair. Vick was also the most dominant player in maybe any video game, his Madden cards were amazing! His next season was back to the bad. Injuries limited him to only 5 games. Vicks stats weren't even worth showing because of his limited time. The next year he was back on the way up. He threw for 2300 yards, 14 TDs, and 12 interceptions. He ran for 900 yards and 3 TDs. Another great rushing season. He was after all the best running QB in NFL history. 2005 was another decent season. 2400 yards, 15 TDs, 13 interceptions. Rushing again was good though. 597 running yards and 6 rushing TDs. 2006 was the best year of Vick's career. The one everyone remembers and his legendary one. He threw for 2400 yards, 20 TDs, and 13 picks. I know his throwing stats weren't great but his running stats were the best a QB has ever had. 1039 rushing yards and 2 TDs! 1039!!!!! Thats insane. Thats the most in a single season by a QB. Vick was literally nothing like anyone had every seen. He was the future of this amazing Falcons team and he would be a Hall of Famer. Everyone wanted to see if Vick could do it again and Falcons fans were excited...then his legal troubles began. Vick was arrested for dog fighting which is horrible and highly illegal. He killed many dogs which is just bad. It was the last Vick would be seen in a Falcons
uniform. After 3 years wrestling with the trouble and jail. The Eagles decided to give Vick a second chance. Vick was the backup in 2009, it looked like his career was pretty much over and he was still pretty young. But then after a series of big off-season moves, coming into the 2010 season, Vick was named the starter for the Eagles. Vick had a great season! He threw for his first 3000 yard season along with 21 TDs and just 6 picks, his best passing season yet! He also ran for 670 yards and 9 TDs. A great rushing season. Vick won NFL Comeback Player of the Year that year and was looking great! Over his next 3 seasons with the Eagles, Vick racked up 6880 passing yards, 35 passing TDs, and 27 interceptions. He ran for 1227 yards and 4 rushing TDs. After racking up a lot of great stats on the Eagles and even leading them through some insane games like the division deciding game vs. the Giants where Vick lead the team to one of the greatest comebacks ever to win the division. Vick was done being a starter. He was aging and left the Eagles and became the backup QB on the New York Jets. Vick was there a year and then was
released and picked up by the Steelers to backup Big Ben. After that season Vick was released and that was the end of his career. In his last 2 seasons with those 2 teams he racked up a mere 975 passing yards, 5 TDs, and 3 interceptions. His running days were kinda over but he racked up 252 rushing yards and 0 TDs. Vick had a great career that may be hall of fame but was likely overshadowed by his crazy legal troubles. Vick is the best running QB football has ever seen and I still regret the one time he started for the injured Big Ben about a year ago not playing him in fantasy football just for fun even though he wasn't great. Vick's legacy as the best rushing QB will live on for a very long time and he won't be forgotten.
